The best prepaid SIM cards in the U.S.

Do you have an unlocked phone and want to cut mobile bills? The best solution is Prepaid SIM Cards (No annual contract). There are so many carriers in the US, but don’t worry, you may find your best plan below.

T-Mobile Prepaid $30/month

  • Price: $30/month
  • Talk: 100 minutes
  • Text: Unlimited
  • Web: Unlimited (First 5GB at up to 4G speed)

If you want to use a smart phone, this plan is the best way to cut your mobile bills. Since summer in 2013, T-Mobile has been reallocating some of their 1900 MHz spectrum from 2G technology to 4G, so even if you have an iPhone 4S like me, you can use it on their network. By the way, I’m using this plan with my iPhone 4S. It took 1 week until I get a SIM card.

Lycamobile $29/month

  • Price: $29/month
  • Talk: Unlimited
  • Text: Unlimited
  • Web: Unlimited (First 250MB at up to 4G speed)

If you don’t need high speed internet or want to call abroad, this plan is the best. 4G Speed data are only 250MB, but international calls are really cheap. For example, it’s just 1¢/minutes to call to landline in Japan! In addition, this plan contains $2.5 international talk credit. I was a user of Lycamobile before. It took 1 week until I get a SIM card.

Republic Wireless $5/month

  • Price: $5/month
  • Talk: Unlimited with WiFi
  • Text: Unlimited with WiFi
  • Web: Unlimited with WiFi

If there are a lot of free WiFi spots near you, it’s reasonable to consider this plan as the best. As long as your phone connects WiFi, you can save a lot.
